Studio Chizu anunció que Kaho Nakamura será quien dé voz a su protagonista, Suzu/Belle para la película Belle Ryū to Sobakasu no Hime. Ella misma interpretará el tema musical de la cinta. Belle Ryū to Sobakasu no Hime se estrena en Japón el próximo 16 de julio. La historia se centra en Suzu, una chica de 17 años que vive sola con su padre, luego de que su mamá muriera varios años atrás. Suzu amaba cantar con su madre, pero a partir de que murió, no pudo hacerlo más. Sin embargo, en el mundo digital denominado U, Suzu adopta la identidad de Belle, donde recupera la voz y siente que puede vivir de otra manera. Era da un po' che volevo parlare di Belle, ma per un motivo o per un altro non l'ho fatto. A voi è piaciuto? Lo trovate il capolavoro di Hosoda? Ho letto varie recensioni dall'uscita del film, tendenzialmente tutte molto entusiaste. L'unica nella quale mi sono rispecchiato po' di più è stata quella di beyond ordinary borders. è stato infatti l'unico a dire di essere uscito dalla sala si intrattenuto, ma con la sensazione di aver visto un film da 7. Continua poi dicendo che solo nei giorni successivi è riuscito a rivalutare il film come un 8/9. Io personalmente credo di aver vissuto solo la prima fase. Ho trovato molto belle le animazioni, le musiche sono superlative ed ho adorato la storia ""originale"" del film, ma ho fatto molta fatica a digerire tutta la componente da "La bella e la bestia" che secondo me funziona pochissimo. Fin dove il film si comporta come un anime ho trovato ci fosse una storia interessante, che va poi leggermente a banalizzarsi ogni volta che si vuole scimmiottare lo stile da favola disneyana. U penso sia un mondo senza un minimo di coerenza stilistica A volte U sembra un mondo "dive-in" alla ready player one, altre volte vediamo personaggi che vi accedono da pc. Non vengono mostrati dei 'mondi' separati alla VRchat, difatti all'inizio sembra essere un unico open world virtuale, per poi contraddire tutto ciò quando si va a caccia del castello del drago. Di tanto in tanto fa una comparsa molto scenografica una simil-chat che dovrebbe rappresentare i commenti degli utenti di U, che però essendo 'dentro' U dovrebbero poter parlare normalmente come fa la protagonista. Ho trovato veramente fastidiosa la superficialità del "villain". Non ricordo se viene spiegato perché sembri avere dei privilegi da developer essendo un utente normalissimo, ma comunque l'ho trovato essere meno che una macchia. Personaggi come il padre di Belle o il ragazzo che le piace sembra abbiano avuto delle parti di trama totalmente rimosse per quanto poco presenti siano. In generale ho avuto molto la sensazione che ogni volta che si entrasse in U si desse spazio ad una rappresentazione semplicistica dei media da parte di qualcuno che non li conosce, e soprattutto che questa scelta abbia tolto tempo a possibili sviluppi dei personaggi e delle dinamiche tra loro. Capisco la volontà di mandare messaggi forti riguardo l'uso dell'internet, dei suoi rischi e delle sue possibilità come mezzo di affermazione, ma ho trovato l'esecuzione troppo semplicistica e l'uno a uno di alcuni momenti presi dalla storia disney totalmente fuori luogo. Voglio dire però che mi sono emozionato più volte durante il film, sempre nel "mondo reale", fuori U, per questo penso che il film avrebbe potuto dare di più se strutturato in maniera più coerente. Per finire, anche se non potrebbe sembrare, mi è piaciuto un bel po' Belle, e proprio per questo ho sentito il bisogno di confrontarmi con altri a riguardo. Appena uscirà in home video penso che lo prenderò per poterlo rivivere nuovamente. Volevo anche parlarne nella speranza che potesse incuriosire qualcuno che quindi possa recuperarselo al cinema visto che ancora dovrebbe essere nelle sale. Ritornando al titolo. Come avete vissuto Belle? Probabilmente speravano che qualche altra sala si mettesse a disposizione, ma così non sembra, sono veramente poche. Calabria, Valle da Osta e Trentino solo 1 sala... il Molise manco quella... Un vero peccato, si vede che gli esercenti dopo l'enorme flop di Demon Slayer, nel quale avevano puntato non poco anche se nel periodo sbagliato, sono rimasti così scottati da tornare sui loro passi e non puntare più sull'animazione non Disney... Questa volta però non hanno scelto una serie nello specifico, bensì un regista, Mamoru Hosoda. Regista di fama mondiale con alle spalle lavori elogiati da critica e pubblico, stiamo parlando di film del calibro di Wolf Children e Summer Wars, nonché di molte altre produzioni parecchio importanti. Tutto questo a pochi mesi dall'uscita nelle sale giapponesi del suo ultimo lavoro, Belle. Film molto atteso anche in Italia, infatti sarà portato nei cinema e in una veste particolare per i film d'animazione giapponese, non sarà relegato ad un film evento solo per 3 giorni, bensì sarà proiettato nelle sale come un qualsiasi altra opera, un grande traguardo direi. Ma torniamo sull'argomento principale, le magliette. Beh, speravo meglio. Con Eva si erano superati, con Jujutsu un po' meno ma sempre molto carine, qui proprio non ci siamo. Non che siano brutte, ma sembrano magliette amatoriali, non sembrano design pensati a tavolino da una grande azienda. Un vero peccato perché mi sarebbero piaciute delle belle magliette a tema Wolf Children, ma nulla, sarà per la prossima volta. The premise of Belle follows character Suzu Naito, voiced by Kaho Nakamura, who is a young schoolgirl self-conscious about her looks and doesn’t feel like she fits in with her classmates. She also has struggled to maintain her relationship with her father due her depression from the passing of her mother. Suzu used to sing a lot with her mum as a child, but unfortunately hasn’t been able to since she lost her mother. Suzu also has a crush on her childhood friend, Shinobu Hisatake, voiced by Ryō Narita, but feels that she cannot associate with him anymore because he is handsome, popular, talented, and believes he is way out of her league. To save the day and help her friend along in her emotional recovery and build her self-confidence, Suzu’s best friend and computer genius Hiroka, voiced by Lilas Ikuta, known as one half of the Japanese music duo Yoasobi, introduces Suzu to the app U’, a virtual world where you can be anything you want to be, with your avatar’s design inspired from your own biometrics. Suzu’s avatar ends up being a long pink-haired freckled beauty, and she chooses the alias Bell’, which is the English translation of her own name. In the world of U, Bell finds her voice, is affectionally called Belle’ by her fans in relation to her beauty and the French term, and she also meets an angel avatar and beast looking character, the latter of which she is intrigued by. Eventually, the relationships that Belle has in U soon end up finding reasons to merge with the real world. The character design of Bell/Belle specifically is stunning, and the way that the characters move in the film admittedly looked a bit strange at first, but that’s only because I’m so used to hand drawn 2D Japanese animation and not anime in CG. The story, although a bit heavy, is not difficult to follow at all, and its unpredictability is part of its charm. It is clear that Mamoru Hosoda put a lot of love into this film. Although the story is cohesive, surprising, and heartfelt, the true hero of Belle is its music. Voice actress Kaho Nakamura even helped write the lyrics for some of the songs that she sings, including A Million Miles Away/はなればなれの君へ/Hanarebanare no kimi e’ and my favourite, Gales of Song/歌よ/Uta yo’. The music of Belle currently has versions in original Japanese, English, and French at present on the film’s official YouTube channel, and there is every intention that they will release other language versions of these incredible songs in the not-too-distant future. At present, only the Japanese and English versions are available on streaming services. Personally, I prefer the Japanese songs, but when it comes to watching anime, I always opt for watching with Japanese Language and English subtitles. When Belle started singing in the film for the first time, I honestly had goosebumps. It felt like an exhilarating and captivating out of body experience, and I would be lying if I told you that I was fine throughout the movie – I was sobbing and cried for almost half of the feature’s run time. I believe writer and director Hosoda made the best decision for Suzu to have the same voice actress and singing voice as Belle. Some anime have different singing voices and different voices for alternate versions of a character, but in this instance with Belle, it just made the transition feel a lot more natural and believable. If you can see this incredible anime on the big screen, do so. It’s visually stunning, as well as pleasing on the ears, and I am so grateful I got to see it in cinemas. I’m just a tad bit sad I missed seeing it at IMAX probably forgivable, it only had two sessions at my local IMAX. Belle is a mature animated cinematic masterpiece which visits topics of depression, grief, acceptance, kindness, friendship, courage, forgiveness, and self-love. It tried to tackle multiple themes and story threads which ended up with inconsistent pacing and weird narrative flow. The marketing showed that Belle and Dragon to be the main story arc of the film, but that ended up the weakest part for me since there was little to no chemistry between them, and the payoff of the story was half-baked and rushed, imo. The U world is also confusing in how the Avatar characters are operated, and the world is a bit barebone and didn't look that interesting given most of the time it's just a bunch of AS getting crowded without doing any activity beside just listening to Belle's singing. It felt like a lesser version of Summer Wars's Oz with features being stripped issue I have was the side characters being so forgettable. Hosoda used to masterfully created great supporting characters in his past movies that made me relate to and care about them, like in Summer Wars where each of Natzuki's family members was so unique and memorable with their own quirk. In Belle, I have no idea what kind of relationship Suzu had with her dad, or why she's hanging out with the other ladies and who they even were until the "blink and you miss" reveal at the end of the movie. Her school friends were a bit more entertaining with some good laugh, but they hardly stood only part worth the praise were the visual and animation, but honestly it's to be expected when it comes to Hosoda and studio Chizu. The music is good but sometimes it felt like emotionally manipulative especially the song during the climax that tried to make you cry along with but they just didn't hit me at I couldn't bring myself to enjoy it despite the stunning animation, which pained me since I was really looking forward to this movie.BDDVD ships in Japan on April 20.
